GAPS Stories - Compiled by Dr Natasha Campbell McBride
GAPS Stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome and Gut and Physiology Syndrome. Dr Natasha created this term in 2004 to describe the plethora of health problems which stem from an unhealthy gut.
Since developing the GAPS Nutritional Protocol Dr Natasha has received many letters from people all over the world. These letters were written by real people, who have overcome their real health problems. Every one of these people feels that they have learned very valuable lessons on their healing journey: lessons which they are keen to pass to others, who may be struggling through the same difficulties. Please, use these stories as case studies, to study how to progress through your personal healing journey and how to deal with potential problems along the way.
There is nothing more valuable than real life experience! When you have lived through something, fought the battle and won, you know what is true and what is false, what works and what doesn't. You possess the truth, you have lived it and you have earned it the hard way!
Many of these stories are humbling: the kinds of horrific problems that people have had to deal with are hard to imagine for the majority of us. Yet, these wonderful people tell their stories with such humour and such grace!
Dr Natasha expresses her gratitude: "I would like to thank every one of these people for sharing their personal stories with the world! This is an act of selfless benevolence, born out of the desire to help others, without asking for anything in return. Thank you!”

Cooking
with Coconut Flour
by
Bruce Fife
Do
you love breads, cakes, pies, cookies, and other wheat products
but can't eat them because you are allergic to wheat or sensitive
to gluten? Or maybe you need to be starch free. Coconut
flour is a delicious, healthy alternative. It is high in fiber,
low in digestible carbohydrate, and a good source of protein. It
contains no gluten so it is ideal for those with celiac disease.
Coconut
flour can be used to make a variety of delicious baked goods, snacks,
desserts, and main dishes. It is the only flour used in most of
the recipes in this book. These recipes are so delicious that you
won't be able to tell that they aren't made with wheat. Every recipe
is completely free of wheat, gluten, soy, trans fats, and artificial
sweeteners, and recipes include both regular and reduced sugar versions.
Dr.
Bruce Fife is regarded as the world's leading expert on the health
aspects of coconut. He is the author of 19 books including "The
Coconut Oil Miracle" and "Coconut Cures."

The Coconut Lovers Cookbook
by Bruce Fife
If you like coconut, you will love this book. It’s written for coconut lovers as well as for the growing number of health conscious individuals who recognize coconut as a marvelous health food.
Every recipe contains coconut in one form or another. Some recipes such as Coconut Battered Shrimp and Coconut Macaroons use shredded or flaked coconut. Others such as Chicken A La King and Strawberry Chiffon Pie use coconut milk or cream in place of dairy. The salad dressings and mayonnaise recipes are based on coconut milk and oil.
This book contains nearly 450 recipes with a mixture of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to choose from. You will find recipes for creating savory main dishes, appetizing side dishes, satisfying snacks, and nutritious beverages. You will find recipes for dairy-free smoothies and blender drinks, creamy soups and hearty chowders, delicious curries, stews, and casseroles. If you like desserts, you will find plenty here to choose from, including German Chocolate Cake, Coconut Pecan Pie, and Chocolate Almond Ice Cream. Every sweet or dessert recipe includes a low sugar version. These recipes use very little sugar or none at all.
Coconut is ideal for low-carbohydrate diets because it contains very little effective (i.e., digestible) carbohydrate. It’s consists primarily of indigestible fiber and, therefore, is a healthy and tasty low-carbohydrate, high-fiber food. The milk, cream, and oil are also low in carbohydrate and give foods a rich creamy taste and texture that is both healthy and delicious.
